Hydration is the key!!  All hair requires it own specific care management; with the correct techniques and products, taming your mane can be done with greater ease for everyday wear.

Shampoo

Hairstylists agree that when it comes to washing curly hair, less is definitely more. Shampoo as infrequently as possible: every other day if your hair is very fine; once a week if it's superthick. On days you don't wash it, just rinsing with water. And when you must lather up, use moisturizing products that contain ingredients like shea butter, palm oil, or avocado oil.

Conditioner

Give your curls a fighting chance against frizz by loading up on conditioner—twice. In the shower, slather on a rich conditioner that contains silicone (any ingredient that ends in "cone"); spread it on from roots to tips, leave it on for five minutes, and rinse thoroughly.

Turn tangles into tendrils with this whisper-light yet thorough curl-enhancing conditioner.

Top Tools for Curly hair

Some of these tools have been around like a cup of tea, but do you really know what they can do for you and how they help you maintain your locks?

Wide-Toothed Comb

This is textured hair 101 if you’re new to your natural hair. The teeth are spaced wide enough to allow the hair space to glide through. Slather on your favorite conditioner before you de-tangle!

Denman Brush

Some use it to de-tangle, some use it to “clump” and define their curls after using a gel. With different types to choose from, hair of every thickness and curl pattern should be able to find what works best for them.

Diffuser attachment

The majority of women own a hairdryer but how often is it used?? the diffuser is an add-on to your dryer that allows the hair to dry even quicker, as it distributes heat to gently dry your hair.

Hair pins 

Bobby pins can be the quick savor to a fast up-style that doesn't require a lot of time. We like that!

Satin scarf/pillowcase

Even tossing and turning in our sheets can cause hair breakage in the long term! using a Satin pillow case can allow the hair to guide smoothly over the pillow case. Don't like the look?? Wrapping your hair in a scarf can have the same aid.

Processing cap (aka the shower cap)

For those deep conditioning sessions, wrap your hair up in a plastic shower cap. Your body heat will allow the product to soak even more into your hair!

Butterfly clips

Great for securing hair in sections, keeping it out of your way while you style! Adding product and styling in sections makes the whole process easier and ensures you don’t miss a spot!

What I truly love about Becks is that he's a trend setter ~ which means ~ he isn't afraid to try new things and he wears them with confidence! which is probably the main reason why they are accepted, loved, copied and worn!

Leighton Mester: blonde girl gone dark

The Gossip Girl star is actually a natural blonde, but when she auditioned for the role of Blair Waldorf she was asked to dye it brown (so as to not steal premiere blonde Blake Lively's thunder in the series!). Leighton is one of the people who looks much more intriguing and smouldering as a brunette, however this look is not for everyone. Darker shades can be harsh on face features, and bring more attention to the nose, eyes and skin.

There's a good side of dark hair, though! If you have fine hair, dying it dark can help it look more full, voluminous and healthy (vs dying it light, although not dying it at all is healthier).
